All riders should continue to watch the Saturday forecast (in Maupin)
and make their own choices regarding this 400k. I've done support for
randos in 100+ temps. Riding in the heat is something to take
seriously when you start suffering illness, not just
uncomfortableness. Only you as a rider knows if you have experience to
ride in extreme heat. This will be the first 90+ degree day for most
valley riders.

You do have choices if you have doubts:

1) SIR's 300k out of Packwood, WA... check their website. Shorter,
cooler high, but also minimally supported.
2) Join Lynne as she rides Portland-Ripplebrook-Portland... shorter
yet, no support.
3) Lemon-drops or lemonade on a shady deck...

Take care,
Susan.
