Hello Rando's,

After reading Ken's review of various chamois creams I just have to chuckle.  I ride at least 6 months of the year in nylon gym shorts... period.  After crewing for a guy at Furnace Creek 508 who suffered all sorts of "saddle interface" issues toward the end of the ride I swore that would never happen to me. I wanted a butt that was "accustomed" to sitting on that seat.  I think that most of the saddle interface issues are caused by moisture.  A side benefit of gym shorts is that the wind goes right through them.  Air movement= dry skin.  Dry skin = happy skin.

I rode Furnace Creek 508 without so much as a sore bottom, let alone any abrasion or saddle sores.....and no padded shorts.

Your mileage may vary, but for my $ leave the cremes and padding for the weekend warriors.

Kevin
