Just so you all don't be getting any foolish ideas...
I have no intensions of running any ACP gravel-ish brevets. Those who claim to love long brevets containing lots of gravel, mud and elevation gain have some options:

1) The fleche... you can put together a team, design your own route, and ride for 24hrs in mud and snow without any pavement. The rules and awards are the same as for the riders who plan 24-hr in the Valley on pavement.

2) Permanents... you design the route, you submit the route to RUSA for approval, you own the route as the organizer... best of all it's not a Susan permanenet or an ORR event.  It's almost as good as a RUSA brevet as far as your brownie points from RUSA. The time rules are the same.

3) Or you can just go out and ride.
