I like this lighting option. Does anyone recall the mounting options available at the front wheel skewer level???

The Cateye EL-500 is a good low-cost, high output light. I see some riders use two of them and they're done with it. I bought two for the price of one on Performancebike.com last year. You might check their current sale for a deal.

As a longterm cycle-commuter but novice randonneur i'm looking for affordable lighting solutions for winter night riding and for future brevet use. I dont have the funds for a high end generator set up so I'm wondering what might be available on the commercial market which would provide adequate illuation and bulb/battery efficiency?
Also, what types of recommendations to people have for reflective vests?
Thanks,
