[ORRando] FW: Verboort Populaire Pre Ride Report

Susan France,

That was an impolite response to my question. It is also unfriendly,
as well as wholly unhelpful & unwelcoming to new riders or anyone who
has never been to Verboort before.

Why will you not simply tell all the cyclists who are showing up for the
populaire that the festival portapotties are located in the elementary
school parking lot? Or the church parking lot? Or at the corner of X &
Y streets?

Some people showing up for Saturday's event have never done an ORRando
Populaire before. Some of them may never have been to Verboort before
and may not know that it's small enough to wander around and eventually
find their way. They don't know what the club's sandwich board control
markers look like. They don't know what you or anyone else working the
opening control look like.

Simply stating "Verboort" as the opening control location and telling
people to look for blue rooms is insufficient. There's going to be a
lot going on in Verboort that day with the festival, with a large volume
of motor vehicle traffic. Giving riders clear directions to the start
is not too much to ask. In fact, it's the friendly and helpful thing to
do.

Find the porta potties.
They are blue.
If there is no one who can point your to the porta potties, the festival
organizers have a bigger problem than you do.
