[ORRando] FW: road/bridge closure: Old Corn Pass

I have to agree with Mike on this. Of all the possible west side
routes back up to Skyline, Germantown is the least attractive option.
It's certainly the busiest alternative, with motorists take the turns
really quickly. At night in low/no light conditions likely to be
present for the slower riders, a motorist could come upon a rider rather
suddenly.

I'd encourage you to consider Mike's suggestion. Or, a variation on
that, given that you're coming from Mountaindale, would be ShadyBrook,
Dorland, Moreland. Much much much quieter than Germantown. And judging
from the map, would give you approximately the same mileage, just
getting you up to Skyline farther north/west of Old Corn Pass. Either
of these options mean more elevation gain than the original route, as
the Old Corn Pass/Skyline intersection is the "low point" on Skyline.
If you are trying to avoid too much additional climbing at the end of
the ride, you could also consider taking riders to Springville instead.
It's an easy climb, and lightly travelled.

How will you get to Old Germantown Rd? Via Germantown Rd? That's a super
busy road with no shoulder. What about linking to Jackson School Rd and
then to Mason Hill Rd and up to Skyline via Moreland. Those roads are so
quiet. So nice. Yeah, they have a few spots where they kick up but
still, they're just so quiet.
