Please see the note below from Dave Thompson, organizer of this year's 2nd
Ontario Granite Anvil 1200

I rode the 1st edition 4 years ago right after LEL. After a relatively
easy start through scenic farmland, this route becomes challenging (&
scenic). Friendly group. Dave Thompson who is an experienced 1200 km
brevet randonneur has put together a team which promises many improvements
over the inaugural edition.

Please pass this note on to folks who might be interested in visiting
Ontario. Durham is not far from Toronto.

If interested, please ask potential riders to act quickly as the open rider
slots will not last long!

Cheers . Ken

Subject: Granite Anvil - quick updates and questions

Qualifying Rides

Spring is upon us and I'm sure that many of you are now putting in the
miles/kilometers. For those who need to qualify this year with a Super
Randonneur series, don't forget to let me know when you have completed all
four rides, sending me the details in an email.

Open Slots

We have had four riders cancel their registrations, which is not unusual in
an event like this, so we have some open slots. If you know someone who
wants to do the ride but couldn't sign up before, let them know.

Store Purchases

Please, please, check your purchases on the website (Jersey, T-shirt, Cap,
Bag) to ensure that I have recorded them and that the sizing is correct.
Follow the link below. Also, "the store is still open" until the end of May
if you want to add items. At that point we will be placing orders with the
suppliers. If there are errors or you want to change a size, let me know
via email.

Durham College - Accommodations

Thank you all for getting back to me with your Durham College needs before
and after the ride. I will assign room-mates for those who are going to
share and book the block of rooms accordingly, confirming room assignments
with you and the College closer to the ride date. You do not need to do
anything at this point.

Durham College - Celebration Dinner

Dinner on Sunday evening after the ride is included in your ride fee. I am
assuming that most of you will be there. If you do not plan to join us --
please let me know via email. If you want to bring a spouse/friend - please
let me know. There will be a small fee for the extra mouth to feed :).
I'll have to work that out.

That's it for now ...
