I would not trust your weather reports. In Plains for example, the
temps were in the hi80's and 90's in surrounding areas we rode
through. The stretch from Hot Sulphur to Lakeside, over 40 miles, has
no services (rollins closes at 8) and is the hottest, driest area of
Montana, according to a local dentist with whom I shared lunch at the
Y Knot Cafe. A write up to follow. As for Greg Olsen, who had his wife
following in a car, we never saw him after the morning of day 1, never
saw him at any rest stops, at any over night stops, at any morning
departures (in the 5-6 am range depending on who left when). Some
might say he is a ghost. Greg, Karel, Joe and I saw each other every
day, multiple times, shared rooms, etc. Makes you wonder...
