You could use saddle rail bottle mount brackets.  Here is one example:

The brackets I have have slots for saddlebag straps, and they hold the  
bottles far enough apart for my seatpost taillight to shine through  
between the bottles.  Sorry, there's no brand name stamped on them.   
It's a good idea to strap the bottles into the cages, IME.

I hate Camelbaks too.
