Sam rode the first 250 miles in less than 15 hours, took a
short 46 minute break yesterday evening and kept going,
the 11th rider to check in.  A blog, photos, details are at:

The early postings indicate the leaders averaging well in
excess of 20 mph for 250 miles!  They were well ahead of
the published control opening times, but apparently were
allowed to proceed due to the downhill and tailwind conditions
that they will pay for on the return trip.  Latest blog entry states
that all the riders are through the halfway control at 4 pm today.
That is a speedy 37 hour 600k for the last rider on the road.
