Hello --

I would like to gauge interest in assembling a wool/wool blend jersey order, best done during the slow season so as to have early spring delivery.
If enough people are interested to get a decent quantity break I would be -- gasp! -- willing to do the legwork. (I figure that, since I can never organize a ride -- I don't own a car -- the least I can do is come with something else.)

As the purchaser for a local bike shop I have the opportunity to consider all manner of bikey stuff. Although we don't sell much apparel I am able to order it through the shop.

I wonder if there is interest in designing and ordering a new Oregon Randonneurs jersey (in quantity)?

I have been looking at Kucharik jerseys and have gathered some info about possible addition of a simple embroidered text. Kucharik jerseys are *made in the USA* (!!) and come in all-wool or 70 wool/30 poly blend. I have a 70/30 blend jersey that is going on three years old and looks/works as good as new. Color selection would not be fantastic, only four or five colors to choose from, though there IS a darker red that is similar to the previous jersey (no stripe, just plain red, a nice darker shade). If washed in cold water and hung to dry shrinkage is almost nonexistent with the blend and about 3-5 percent with the all-wool. (No guarantees, of course, if washed warm and tossed in the dryer.)

You can check out Kucharik's offerings, including colors and sizing info, here:

Note that the wool-blend no longer includes the charcoal grey (discontinued); all other colors available. I am thinking that the darker red might be a good choice for both good looks and some continuity with the previous jersey.

If you are seriously interested in buying a jersey, please reply OFF-list directly to my email: name, city, contact info and size. I am researching what kind of minimum would be needed to get a decent price break so a working number would be helpful.

Of course, feel free to offer alternative ideas too.

Thanks --Beth Hamon, PDX
