[OrRando] gravel

Having had grown up in Corvallis and a Boy Scout as well, there are
tons of gravel roads in the Wilamette National Forest, and all one has
to do to discover them is to get a National Forest road map.  I
personally recommend the rather remote area behind Falls Creek Lake on
the Middle Willamette.  NF-18 will take you all the way to the Diamond
Peak Wilderness if I remember correctly.  (this is 20 years ago, mind
you.).  Hopefully they have not turned this area into pavement.

Of course, the higher elevations of the Cascades probably would not be
suitable for wintertime gravel riding due to snowpack...
