[OrRando] 200/400 & 300/600

This weekend 68 riders started the Covered Bridges 200 & 400k. 18 started (&
finished) the 200k version including Matt Dalton who is barely off crutches
from a crash earlier this year. 50 started (49 finished) the 400k version.
Somehow most riders managed to find the break in the weather this weekend.
Friday night and Sunday morning it was wet. Saturday was mostly "perfect"
except for the blustery winds. The constant stream of riders checking in,
kept us busy at the Travelodge from 2pm Saturday until 7 am Sunday. Thanks
to Marcello and Rick for preriding the 400k route, refining the cuesheet
instructions, and then for helping me register and checkin riders Sat & Sun.
This crowd was over 2x the size of last years 200/400. Results will be
posted when I catch up on some sleep.

The route for the 300/600k will be the same as last year with tweaks. I do
not plan to preride either distance. Based on this years attendance on the
ACP events I will once again need volunteers. If you can preride the weekend
before (June 2/3) and help for a shift of 6-8 hrs sometime during the
weekend it would be appreciated. Getting a small group of riders with
similar speeds to preride is always the way to go. Contact your riding
buds... let me know. I've been known to deliver midnight pizza & drinks on
the road to preriders ;-)

Next Monday is the Memorial Day populaire (106k) starting a 9am from
Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. These roads are lightly traveled and you should
not need to be concerned about heavy Mem Day traffic clogging the roads.
I'll be including Rickey's preride report soon... again when I catch up on
some sleep.
