[OrRando] i am now prepped for the nighttime populaire...

not offhand - ive ridden the past 7-8 years with a pair of lumotecs
mounted *upside down* on my work bike (a positioning which supposedly
will cause them to short out) - with no shorts at all, ever. the e6
setup on my yellow taylor hasnt really been run yet, or exposed to
rain. the e6 setup on my gold taylor touring bike has run smoothly
through rain etc.

i honestly dont know - ive had no experience with shorts in
schmidt-based lighting systems at all...

my only advice is to use shrink tube liberally - NO exposed metal in
the wiring system at all, except at the connector.

ive no experience with the lumotec topal, though - just standard
lumotecs (not the oval plus standlight) and schmidt e6, along with
both original and current design schmidt hubs...
