David, this is an entertaining ride report!   Thank you for sharing.  My favorite part (and man, can I relate...):

"  It took me almost an hour to get ready, mostly because I was reduced to a 3 year old unable to dress myself.  Put on bibs. Put on pants. Put on jersey.  Bib straps are hanging. Take off jersey. Strap on bibs. Put on jersey.  Take off jersey.  Put on base layer. Put on jersey.  Forgot to use bathroom. Take off jersey... etc. "
