Lifted from the LEL Facebook page, a distillation of The Rules Of
Luggage.

Top Tips on carrying stuff.

So based on some informative, fun and suspicious suggestions, luggage on
LEL can be summarised as follows:

1. Whatever size of bags you use - you will fill them
2. At 3am, kit becomes significantly bigger and takes up more room than
it did at 6pm on the lounge floor
3. Use a selection of bags one of which allows you easy access to stuff
on the road (food, phone, cash etc)
4. Have enough stuff to survive a mechanical in the middle of the night
for the weather that's forecast (and assume it's likely to rain) and
have easy access to the kit you need in your bag
5. You don't have to carry everything - utilise the two bag drops to
swap over kit
6. Carry enough so you're not a liability to other riders
7. Don't assume you'll pass a shop sometime soon - be prepared for
nothing between the controls
8. Consider something to keep you warm in case you want a quick 40 winks
on the side of the road - space blankets are not the solution
9. Take your bottles into the control when you stop to save double
journeys
10. Have enough space to carry kit you'll take off - where's it going to
go if your bags are already full?
11. Worship at the altar of your preferred brand of bag and let no man
(or woman) cast aspersions on it's integrity - it's simply the best
12. Consider those carrying more as overladen and those carrying less as
foolhardy
13. Always, always obey rule 5
