[ORRando] help me brainstorm a bike?

hi all!

This is a super cursory email, but I'm scheming a new
rando-and-touring-friendly bicycle and would love some input. I definitely
don't have the skrills for anything custom, but I AM into building up from
a frame if it seems like I can do it without bankrupting myself. And if I
can figure out the finer points of bike-building:)

I don't want to spam this list, so perhaps if you're interested in talking
bikes and bike parts with me (or if you just have strong opinions about
what I should do;) you could email me off-list and I could let you know
more about what I'm thinking?
