Wow, nothing like offering up a free rain jacket in October to get folks
to come out of the woodwork!   :-)
 
I have about 20 volunteers already, so I think we're good.  
 
I'm passing the information you provided to me on to the Gore rep.    If
you make the initial cut (based on all the size jackets she has
available), you will get an email from her later tonight or tomorrow
with all the details.   A few of you have asked me questions that I
don't have the answers to, so I will ask her to address those questions
in the email she sends to all of you.
 
Thanks again for volunteering to test wear the jacket.  I personally
LOVE Gore products (I ride 'em ALL winter long and on every cold and/or
wet brevet I do) so I hope it's a successful experience for all of you.
But hey, if it *isn't*, Gore wants to know that too.

I'm looking for TEN male Portland randos who would like a FREE Goretex
Jacket to test wear over the next 3 months.   Interested??
 
Here's the deal:   I do a lot of work with Gore Bike Wear.  They are
testing a *new* Goretex laminate.  Not yet on the market, but far enough
along that they need some wear testers to put the laminate through it's
paces.
 
The jacket will be yours to ride over the next three months.  You have
to agree to ride it for more than 100 miles over the next 3 months (not
hard for any rando...) during any kind of rides (rando, commuting,
utility, whatever) and be willing to provide your written feedback on
the performance and functionality of the textile.
 
You must be available at 7pm this Thursday night to pick up your jacket
in town (meeting place TBD, but probably a brewpub in inner southeast or
downtown) and to get instructions on how the test/feedback will work.
In addition to getting to use a (hopefully) great jacket during the
heart of the Oregon rainy season, you'll also get a gift certificate to
River City Bicycles for your trouble.   Plus, you'll get my undying
gratitude.   And, if you show up on one of my coffeeneuring rides, the
coffee is on me!  :-)
 
Men's sizes small to x-large are available (sorry ladies, but nothing is
available to test in women's) so if you fit that size range, you are
welcome into the test program.
 
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. please shoot me an email, preferably today.  Your
name and likely jacket size are pretty much all I need at this point.
I'll pass your contact information on the Gore rep handling the test and
she will send you an email with details for Thursday night.
