[ORRando] Tygh Valley Traveller 400k predrive notes

Also, it's not really a "long off-road stretch" It's a roughly 5 minute or so walk along a fairly obvious dirth path. Dip down to the creek, cross, then push your bike up the other side. The "push your bike up the other side" part will be the most difficult section.

I think that after the long climb to get there, most of us will enjoy a few minutes off the bike. :-)

Is the hike around the creek near timothy lake the only long off road stretch in the course? Sent an email earlier this wk but didn't hear back, and wanted to double check as 'forest service roads' sounds like another way of saying dirt and gravel.

It's a kickass route. Drop dead gorgeous. Soooooo little traffic for the vast majority of the route. Miles and miles of single lanes roads through the forest. I get a little giddy just thinking about it. One note of caution: Lynne & I are summoning the Dementors for the soul-sucking stretch between miles 210-230, so don't forget your magic wand. (Unless you are Michael Wolfe *or* share DNA with a mountain goat, in which case you'll LOVE that stretch too.)

Sounds like a great route. I hope I can get the time to do it.
