I agree. Kevin, you should just do the Oregon Randonneurs ride this weekend. See http://www.orrandonneurs.org/rba/2012/Spring_300/Spring_300_info.html
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't have to be a "paid member" of Oregon Randonneurs anymore because we don't have dues. So it's the same price for everybody and everybody's welcome.

Really? Seems a little early for that ride. I imagine the shoulder has got to be pretty treacherous with there still being snow up there. There's links to cameras up there on the MHNF website: http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/mthood/home
If you take pictures on the ride post them here, I'm curious to see what the conditions are like.
In the summer I'm hoping to get a crew together to go over Mt Hood via Hwy 26 or possibly Still Creek Rd. and then down to Parkdale where we'll get on NF Rd 16 over to Lolo Pass Rd and back over Hood and back to Portland. Lolo Pass Rd is pretty cool. About 6 miles of it is dirt. I've only ever gone down it. Seems like the dirt section is a better climb than descent.
