i gotta say it...

its not a "race" - rando is officially noncompetitive (though a 
little friendly competition certainly does exist within the 
noncompetitive framework :) ) - your only competition is against 
yourself, the clock, and the course itself. the rest of us, were just 
along for the ride :)

that aside, come on in, the waters fine! a 600k as your first 
randonee is ambitious indeed, but jumping in rather than wading has 
worked before!
