Thanks for all the feedback on this ancient subject.  I think I'm leaning
towards using one E-6 lamp for now and than possibly adding the lumotec oval
down the line--if needed.

Too bad examples of these set-ups are so few and far in between.  In my
group of riders, it's all about LEDS with only one brave sole switching over
to Shimano hub for commuting)(local shop took over 2 months to get all the
requisite parts for him).
