I'm glad that you like them, but the reviews on these gloves on the
REI web page don't seem very encouraging:
Work great as long as it is not raining
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
These gloves are great as long as it is not raining. Once it starts
to rain they soak up water like a sponge and once your hands are wet
if you need to remove the gloves and put them back on it is very,
very difficult to get them back on. The liners seem to not want to go
back into the finger holes. I ride all winter in the wet and nasty
Pacific Northwest so I need a glove that will work when it rains and
this one does not.

"Not sure they were field tested"
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I do mountain biking in the summer at high altitudes and pack cold
weather gloves for that rare, cold rain storm. The gloves fit and
feel great when your hands are dry but should your hands become damp
and cold like mine did in the rain, you may be in trouble. I made
every attempt at trying to put them on but no matter how hard I
tried, the material on the inside of the glove would not allow my
hands, once they were damp, to slip them on. Before buying this glove
you may want to get your hand wet under the sink, shake off the water
and try to put them on. Hopefully, you'll have better success than I
did. [...]
