[OrRando] Budget lighting options

As a longterm cycle-commuter but novice randonneur i'm looking for
affordable lighting solutions for winter night riding and for future brevet
use.  I dont have the funds for a high end generator set up so I'm wondering
what might be available on the commercial market which would provide
adequate illuation and bulb/battery efficiency?

Also, what types of recommendations to people have for reflective vests?
